Chapter 7: Today

This chapter of the virtual tour of the former Synagogue of Niederzissen, called “Today”, is the last part of the tour. It describes the efforts to rebuild Jewish life in Germany after 1945. Whilst most rural Jewish communities have been destroyed forever, after the end of the Second World War Jewish communities are established in various cities. Today, three Jewish congregations exist in close proximity to the former synagogue of Niederzissen, in Coblenz, Bonn and Cologne respectively. They offer a complete Jewish infrastructure, including Synagogues, religious education, senior citizens meetings, a community newspaper, sports clubs and much more.
